How to adjust camera image parameters: brightness, contrast, saturation, sharpness
What does each parameter control?

Recommended value ideas
Default values are usually "eye-pleasing" - contrast, saturation, and sharpness are all set high. When you zoom in, you will feel that the picture looks very "plastic". Security scenes pay more attention to details and restoration. Suggestions:
- Contrast: 45~55 indoors, slightly higher in outdoor backlit scenes, but not more than 70.
- Saturation: 45~55 is enough. Too high saturation will distort the colors of faces and clothing. Not conducive to subsequent identification.
- Sharpness: Recommended 30~45. Sharpness does not mean the higher the clarity, it just strengthens the edges. After turning it up, noise and compression block effects will be amplified together.
- Brightness: Give priority to solving the problem through exposure (shutter, gain) instead of brightness compensation.
Debugging methods
Don't face the empty scene. People or vehicles should appear in key locations on the screen during actual business hours. Observe the real-time picture and video playback at the same time - many parameter problems cannot be seen in the real-time preview. Noise and color casts were only noticeable when playing back still frames.
In addition, it is best to configure the day and night parameters separately: at night, the sharpness can be appropriately reduced to suppress noise. And turn off the repeated switching near the automatic color to black threshold.
