Point planning method for residential area monitoring system
According to the five levels of "entrance-perimeter-public area-unit building-underground garage", the key points for setting up community monitoring points are explained.
First floor: entrance and exit (most important)
- Diversion of pedestrians and vehicles: Pedestrian passages are equipped with facial recognition/swipe cards, and vehicle passages are equipped with license plate recognition.
- Vehicle entrance and exit: license plate recognition camera (special camera + fill light), plus a panoramic camera to record the overall situation.
- Pedestrian entrance and exit: face recognition terminal + surveillance camera covering the queuing area.
- Goal: 100% trace rate of personnel entry and exit, vehicle recognition rate ≥ 98%.
Second level: perimeter
- An infrared security camera is installed every 40 to 60 meters on the fence, and cross coverage is used to eliminate blind spots.
- Place more points in easy-to-climb locations (low walls, against trees, against pipes).
- Cooperate with the dome camera for alarm linkage tracking.
- Optional: Electronic fence + video review, the false alarm rate can be greatly reduced.
Third floor: public area
- The main road, central garden, children's play area, and fitness area are all covered.
- Dome cameras are used in large scenes such as squares (supporting cruising and crowd density detection).
- Be careful to avoid the direction of residents’ windows to avoid privacy disputes.
The fourth floor: unit building
- Unit foyer: 1 camera facing the entrance, taking into account both face and access control.
- Elevator car: 1 2.8mm wide-angle camera per elevator.
- Floor corridors: Distribute points at intervals of 15 to 20 meters, or only in the elevator hall (depending on budget and property requirements).
- Basement elevator hall: separate location, this is a high-risk area for theft.
Fifth floor: underground garage
- Lane: 1 unit every 20 to 25 meters. Pay attention to column blocking and use diagonal cross coverage.
- Parking space area: low illumination wide-angle camera + fill light.
- Entrance and exit: license plate recognition and barrier gates are linked.
- Pedestrian stairwells and elevator halls: separate locations.
- Non-motorized garage: Covered separately, electric vehicle theft is high.
Privacy and Compliance
- Cameras may not be pointed into residents’ doors or windows, which is the most common source of complaints.
- Set higher permissions on the elevator screen and resident floor screen to review traces.
- Publish the location plan before construction and solicit opinions from owners.
- There must be a clear management system for storage and access.
