Three major reasons for failure
- Lightning strikes and surges: Intrude along power lines and network cables, damaging cameras and switches;
- Water and moisture:The connector is not waterproofed and short-circuited in rainy season;
- Unstable power supply: Voltage fluctuations or insufficient adapter power cause restarts.
Protective measures
- Pole and equipment box are reliably grounded, and the grounding resistance meets the requirements;
- Install Surge Protector (SPD) on the power supply and network side;
- Use waterproof box + waterproof tape for network cable connector;
- Configure UPS or PoE power supply redundancy at important points;
- Choose IP66/IP67 protection grade equipment.
Inspection list
It is recommended to check the picture clarity and angle offset once a quarter, clean the lens and shield, Test the fill light and wipers, check the integrity of the video, and check the box seal and cable aging.
