Security monitoring and LCD splicing large screen project for a tertiary hospital
Covering the outpatient building, inpatient department, pharmacy, underground garage and the periphery of the hospital area, a 3×4 LCD splicing wall monitoring center was built, with 90-day double backup of video recording in key areas.

Project background
The hospital is a tertiary-level general hospital with an average daily outpatient volume of about 8,000. The original monitoring system was built in 2012. The equipment is aging, the image quality is declining, and it cannot meet the growing demand for medical dispute evidence collection. Renovation begins in May 2021.
Implementation arrangements (night and weekend construction)
- Days 1–10: On-site inspection, and jointly determine the list of "visible areas" and "no surveillance areas" with the Medical Department and Security Department.
- Day 11–40:Construction will be carried out from 21:00 at night to 6:00 the next day, proceeding layer by layer, and the site will be restored during the day.
- Days 41–60:Construction of the monitoring center and installation of equipment, and completion of installation and commissioning of the video wall.
- Days 61–75: System joint debugging, recording strategy configuration, permission division and personnel training.
Privacy protection design
- No cameras will be installed in clinics, examination rooms and locker rooms.
- The infusion room and ward corridor adopt a partial blocking method, covering only public passages.
- All access operations are recorded and the Medical Department can audit them at any time.
- Limited by the splicing wall display policy, sensitive images will not be rotated on the large screen in the lobby.
Project results
After the system went online, the time for medical dispute adjudication was shortened from an average of 2-3 days to within 30 minutes, and the efficiency of hospital safety management and dispute handling was significantly improved.
Project difficulties
Issues that need to be addressed during project advancement
The glass curtain wall in the outpatient hall is severely backlit
Ordinary cameras make faces black, making it difficult to collect evidence in disputes
The hospital operates 24 hours a day, and construction cannot interrupt diagnosis and treatment
Construction can only be done at night and on weekends, and the construction schedule is tight
Pharmacy and finance are critical areas
require independent storage and stricter authority control
Patients have high privacy protection requirements
Cameras should not be installed in the clinic and examination room areas
The original system equipment is aging and has a high failure rate

The infusion room and nurse station are equipped with sound pickup cameras

Independent storage channels for pharmacy and finance
Videos are saved for 90 days and can only be accessed by the hospital leadership and security department.
No cameras are installed in sensitive areas, instead detection at the door is used
