Evolution of camera low-light technology: from infrared to starlight level, nighttime imaging quality has been greatly improved
Advances in sensors and algorithms allow cameras to continue to make breakthroughs in full-color night vision and starlight-level performance, reducing reliance on fill lights and improving the nighttime monitoring experience.
Three types of night vision solutions
| Program | Features | Applicability |
|---|---|---|
| Infrared night vision | Black and white picture, low cost, covering far distances | Perimeter, garage, warehouse |
| Starlight level | Color imaging under extremely low illumination | Park roads and squares |
| Full-color night vision | White light supplement, clear colors | Entrances and scenes that require color discrimination |
Suggestions for selection
- For scenes that require color identification (clothing, vehicle color), starlight or full color is preferred;
- Avoid the lens facing a strong light source to prevent halo;
- Be careful to avoid reflections caused by close-range obstructions (such as tree branches, awnings) for infrared cameras;
- Full-color fill light needs to consider the impact on residents and drivers.
