Project background

The customer-built data center carries core services and has approximately 800 cabinets. The original monitoring only covered the entrance and exit of the computer room. There is almost no visualization method inside the inter-column channel. Once misplugging or miswiring occurs, Difficult to restore process quickly. This renovation will start in September 2023.

Design points

  • Complementary layout between rows: Each camera covers the fronts of the two opposite rows of cabinets to avoid evidence collection failures caused by cabinet doors being blocked.
  • Strict partition authorization: The screens of different business modules are only open to the person in charge of the module.
  • Alarm mutual promotion: The temperature, humidity, and smoke alarms of the dynamic environment platform are automatically linked to video pop-ups, and the personnel on duty can directly see the scene.
  • Long-term storage: 180 days of recording in important areas, combined with operational watermarks to prevent the recording from being questioned.

Implement interference control

The computer room construction adopts the "Single person carrying tool kit + full escort + same-day clearance" system, and all entries and exits are recorded by video. Ensure there is no impact on online business during the entire construction cycle.

Project difficulties

Issues that need to be addressed during project advancement

The cabinets are densely arranged, and the conventional viewing angles are seriously blocked

The passage between columns is narrow, and it is necessary to consider both the panoramic view of the passage and the evidence collection from the front of the cabinet.

The risk of leakage and condensation is strictly prohibited, and the camera must be stable for a long time

Equipment reliability requirements in precision environments are extremely high

Operations and maintenance are mostly remote operations, lacking on-site review methods

Cabinet operations lack visual evidence

The dynamic environment system only has data and lacks visual evidence

abnormal temperature and humidity cannot be quickly located at the specific location

solution

Technical and construction measures taken to address the above difficulties

Dual viewing angles on both sides of the row head passage facing each other

Each camera will cover the fronts of the two opposite rows of cabinets, taking into account the status of channel personnel and equipment

Channel intersection design with no blind spots

Adjacent channel cameras are complementary obliquely, eliminating blind spots caused by columns between columns

Connect with the dynamic environment platform to realize mutual push of alarms

Automatically pop up the real-time picture of the area and locate the cabinet number when the temperature and humidity exceed the limit

Two-person operation certificates

Videos of important cabinet areas are saved for 180 days and superimposed with operation watermarks

Project results

Actual operating data after the system goes online

180 days
Save videos in important computer room areas
15 seconds

Main equipment list

This project mainly uses equipment (XLD is mainly self-developed)

  • 2 million network dome cameras168 units, hoisted in the aisle between columns
  • Low-illumination network cameras36 units, distribution room and periphery
  • With network port pickup16 pieces, audio and video synchronization in important areas
  • 32-channel NVR6 units, dual-disk hot backup
  • Dynamic ring docking gateway1 set, linked with temperature, humidity/smoke sensor
