Project background

The community was built in 2011. The original monitoring system was a coaxial analog architecture with a total of 120 points. As the service life increases, The system has problems such as fuzzy picture quality, frequent failures, and insufficient storage time. It can no longer meet the safety needs of property management and owners. In June 2023, the owners committee approved the monitoring system transformation plan, and Xinlaida Security will undertake the overall transformation.

Implementation process

  1. On-site survey and scheme design (10 days): Check the original lines building by building, survey and map the point distribution map, and determine 260 new points.
  2. Old system dismantling and line reconstruction (15 days):Construction will be carried out in different buildings and in different periods, retaining available bridges and pipelines, and replacing aging cables.
  3. Front-end equipment installation (20 days): Installation in batches by region, and temporary commissioning of each building after installation is completed.
  4. Construction of the monitoring center (8 days): Build a new splicing wall and operation desk, and complete the matrix configuration and wall installation plan.
  5. System joint debugging and training (7 days): Complete system-wide joint debugging, video recording strategy configuration, and conduct 3 rounds of training for property security personnel.

Project Highlights

  • Renovation without downtime: Adopting the strategy of "build new first, demolish old later", the original monitoring is always available during the renovation.
  • Privacy protection mechanism: The elevator screen and the resident floor screen are authorized separately, and the access traces are left.
  • Intelligent parking space management: The license plate recognition at the garage entrance and exit is linked with the barrier gate, so the owner's vehicle can pass without any sense.

Owner feedback

After the system went online, it has been running stably, the public security situation in the community has been significantly improved, and the monitoring system score in the property satisfaction survey has increased from 62 points to 91 points.

Project difficulties

Issues that need to be addressed during project advancement

The old system is a coaxial analog architecture, and the lines are seriously aging

The original coaxial cables and power lines are in disrepair, and the signal attenuation is obvious. The feasibility of reuse needs to be evaluated.

During the renovation period, the normal life of residents must not be affected

Construction must avoid residents’ rest time, and the original monitoring must not be interrupted for a long time

There is no effective lighting in the underground garage, making imaging difficult

The garage environment is dim and there are many pillars blocking it, so it is necessary to arrange the points reasonably to avoid blind spots.

Owners are highly sensitive to privacy protection

Viewing permissions must be strictly controlled in elevator and unit door areas to avoid information leakage

solution

Technical and construction measures taken to address the above difficulties

All core areas have been upgraded to 2-megapixel network cameras

Entrances, exits and main roads are equipped with star-level cameras, and license plates can be discerned at night

Use original pipelines to route network cables to minimize damage

Replace aging coaxial lines and retain reusable bridges and pipelines

The underground garage uses low-illumination wide-angle cameras + fill light

points are arranged at a distance of 25 meters, and the blind spots of the columns are solved through diagonal cross coverage

Newly built monitoring center, equipped with digital matrix and LCD splicing wall

46-inch splicing screen 2×3, supporting 16-channel HDMI matrix wall and patrol

Hierarchical permissions and privacy protection

Three-level permissions for property managers, security monitors, and attendants. The elevator screen can only be accessed by the monitor and above.
